On the 13th July ITV announced that they had commissioned a brand new series of the global hit Undercover Boss, as a new group of chief execs and company go undercover to work at grass roots in their businesses and find out what is really going on for their employees.
After a year of lockdowns which have devastated industry, this seems very timely, and the new show will follow four of the UK’s biggest business owners as they reopen their doors and try to get back on track.
Tune in and don’t miss out on Thursday 5th of August at 9pm on ITV.
But why are we talking about?
Well, that is because one of those bosses is multi-millionaire Alfie Best. The owner of Europe’s largest park home operator and successful entrepreneur, best known for his leading park homes, Wyldecrest Parks amongst many other businesses.
He donned a disguise and visited a number of his parks pretending to be a new employee. This must have been a challenge for the make-up team as he is a well-known figure who regularly visits his parks. He is known as a humble man who will talk to everyone from the President of Barbados, Mia Mottley to the newest and youngest member of staff. Thus, not only would most of his staff have met him but also many of the residents.
ITV Press Release
ITV’s press release pictures Alfie Best suited and booted beside his helicopter but while he features in the Sunday Times Rich List now that is a far cry from his humble beginnings. He has not forgotten laying tarmac as a young man and is still not averse to getting his hands dirty on his parks.
Four Part Series
As well as Wyldecrest Parks, the four-part series visits bosses from Pickfords, Bristol Street Motors and Euro Foods Group.
“Pickfords has a 400-year history and is the UK’s largest removals company, but Covid’s had a big impact on the way they do business. Bristol Street Motors are one of the biggest car dealerships in the UK, but how are they recovering from a nationwide decline in car sales?”
We have been big fans of Undercover Boss show back in the day and are looking forward to its new incarnation as Undercover Big Boss.
