Pinewood Park: First PHHPA Regional Award Winners

Bradley, Our Director General, met Dave and Kerry Woodhead before the COVID 19 pandemic began. 

Dave and Kerry own and operate Pinewood parks which is a camping and glamping site located in Scarborough. Bradley admired Dave and Kerry’s work ethic and the way they make everyone smile and enjoy their visit.

Dave and Kerry knew that they wanted to upgrade and expand their site to new levels. They discussed with Bradley what else they could do to offer their customers a more memorable and luxurious experience and bring a fresh new look  to the market. 

Bradley watched them during successive lockdowns and while others were sitting at home wondering what they could do Dave and Kerry continued to improve and keep building their site and their social media with the belief that someday they would re-open. 

Many Park operators were frozen due to the fear of COVID 19, but Bradley watched Dave and Kerry continually post and advertise to create excitement and buzz around their site.  

He recently went to visit the site and he was amazed to see the new construction of the wooden framed new home which they are building. All the changes they have made will increased their site value and will open up more opportunities for them. 

Bradley loved his time parked up on pinewood in the Vaaroom motorhome and he is looking forward to his next visit to Dave and Kerry at Pinewood.

Who are they, what do they do?

Pinewood Park makes it their mission to ensure their customers enjoy the glamping trip of their dreams. Just turn up, and then let your imagination run wild. Your kids and dogs can also enjoy the freedom of this family and pet friendly site. 

They offer a wide range of different sizes and types of glamping accommodation which are all heated and waterproof to suit the needs of the group. There are clean modern shower and toilet facilities as well as entertainment areas.

You can enjoy all of this with the reassurance of knowing that Dave and Kerry are so committed to making it a family friendly experience that they have a fixed tariff so you know the prices will not suddenly increase during the summer holidays. They even let kids go free!

If you wish to run an event or even get married there then you can rent the whole site and have the backdrop of the spectacular Yorkshire scenery for your big day.

Pinewood Park is close to Scarborough’s seaside attractions and just a short drive to the stunning North York Moors national park. After a busy day of sightseeing or enjoying the local attractions you can relax with a tipple of your choice in your own private hot tub and then get a peaceful night’s sleep due to the no noise after 10pm policy.

Why they won the award?

Bradley placed the first ever Park Home and Holiday Park Association Award in Dave and Kerry’s hands during his recent road trip. He received the usual warm welcome when he arrived to stay and had been invited for dinner. 

He had an incredible night but the best part was being able to surprise them with their award. He was thrilled to be able to present this award to a vibrant single glamping site. 

Bradley is enthusiastic about awarding people within the industry whether they are small and own one park or large and own 15. Dave and Kerry Woodhead are relentless in their attitude and work hard to look after their customers with a smile on their face. No ask or request is too small or hard for them to handle for their customers. 

Dave and Kerry have worked incredibly hard and this has paid off in the increased financial value and asset value of their glamping site. Pinewood Parks did not let the pandemic bring them down. They continued to improve and adapt to ensure that their site was the best it could be for when customers were allowed to travel again.
